State Approvals for Continuing Education

As of December 15, 2011

In addition to the 20 ASHI CE credits you will receive by attending InspectionWorld Phoenix, ASHI will be submitting requests to the following states for CE credit approval of the 45 education sessions. 

Separately, requests will also be submitted to the states for CE credit approval of the 2012 International Residential Code 18-hour course.   
As states respond, this list will be regularly updated.

Alaska
45 sessions approved for 18 CE hours.
2012 IRC course approved 18 hours.

Arkansas
19 courses approved: Electrical Inspections from the Ground Up, Common Foundation Problems, In the Crawl Space, Deck Construction & Inspection, Advanced Air Conditioning, Structural Warning Signs for Residential HI, Specialty Roofing, Stucco, Air & Moisture Management in Res. Housing, Strategies for Safe Inspecting, Advanced Electrical Defect Identification 2012, Proper Connector Installation & Inspection, Hazardous Building Materials in the Home, Understanding Indoor Air Quality & Testing Methods, IECC 2009 Residential Energy Code Inspections, Chasing Water with Thermal Imaging, Understand the ASHI Pool Inspection Standard, Whoa! What If You Don't Inspect Radon Systems? and Risk Reduction. 2 hours approved each course.

2012 IRC course approved 16 hours.

Connecticut 
All courses in Essentials, Beyond Basics, Advanced and Specialty Tracks approved for 18 CE hours.

Illinois
(seven pairings equaling 3 CE hours each, approved by the State of Illinois):

2012 International Code approved by the State of Illinois:
Attendee required to attend both courses in pairing & take and pass 25 question exam to earn 3 CEs.

Indiana
Per law IC 25-14-0.2, ASHI continuing education is automatically approved.  You may attend ANY of the education sessions.

Kansas
The state grants automatic approval of any continuing education which is provided by or approved by the American Society of Home Inspectors.

Kentucky
45 sessions approved for 18 CE hours.
2012 IRC course approved 3 hours – General.

Louisiana
45 sessions approved for 18 CE hours. 
2012 IRC course approved 3 hours - General.

Massachusetts
Per law 266 CMR 5.05 (1)B, ASHI continuing education is automatically approved. You may attend ANY of the education sessions.

Mississippi
45 sessions approved for 18 CE hours.
2012 IRC course approved 18 hours.

Nevada

New Hampshire
The state grants ASHI automatic approval for CE courses.  You may attend ANY of the education sessions.

New Jersey
34 sessions approved. (Commerical Inspections and Chasing Water with Thermal Imaging as well as the Business Management Track sessions were not approved). 
2012 IRC course approved 18 hours.

New York
35 sessions approved. ("Whoa! What If you Don't Inspect Radon Systems?" and the Business Management Track sessions were not approved.)
2012 IRC course approved 18 hours.

North Carolina
8 courses approved: CEC 339-2012 Electrical Inspections From The Ground Up, CEC 340-2012 Strategies For Safe Inspections, CEC 341-2012 Structural Warning Signs For Home Inspectors, CEC 342-2012 Air Conditioning Basics & Beyond, CEC 343-2012 In The Crawl Space, CEC 344-2012 Common Foundation Problems, CEC 345-2012 High Efficiency Gas Furnaces, and CEC 346-2012 Advanced Electrical Defect Recognition.

Oklahoma
18 CE hours approved.  44 sessions approved (exception is "Mobile Social Media Marketing")

Oregon
The state grants ASHI automatic approval for CE courses.  You may attend ANY of the education sessions.

Tennessee
45 sessions approved for 18 CE hours. 
2012 IRC Course approved for 18 CE hours.

Texas
45 sessions approved for 18 CE hours.  
2012 IRC Course approved for 18 CE hours.

Washington
45 sessions approved for 18 CE hours. 
2012 IRC Course approved for 18 CE hours.

West Virginia
The state grants ASHI automatic approval for continuing education sessions.

Wisconsin
The state recognizes any course relating to the general subject matter of home inspection.
